Projects
Probably not as many as their should be given my diverse amount of interests. I typically won't post a project til it is up and running.
- Los Angeles Cycling Map:
Began this after seeing a post by friend Timur about lacking of maps for cyclists in the City of Angels. Spent many hours hand mapping the official MTA map onto Google Maps (didn't think to ask for data from the gov't nor do I have the Javascript skills yet to do mash-ups). Redesigned it 10/21/09.
- OpenStreetMap:
Trying to contribute to this open source geography initiative; mapped the Niger River from Timbuktu, Mali to Famale, Niger, spent some time fixing the Amazon, building roads in rural Cambodia and Iran, and placemarking UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Would be cool if that was all in real life and not just clicking on a mouse...
- Critical Languages:
Currently building a site to provide resources for those studying super critical and critical languages (as assessed by the US government) as there is a dearth of online information for English speakers trying to study them. Operational by November (fingers crossed).
